The Mess at Ferrari

Why is it so hard for the two drivers to work together, and why are there clearly no defined rules of engagement inside the most famous F1 team?
It might be the classic example of good intentions turning into unforeseen chaos and the opening-lap fight between them at Monza was simply the latest symptom.
Racing drivers do what racing drivers are supposed to do: fight for every opportunity to get ahead. Management is there to set the limits and make sure they move forward as a team.
Management is not there to be a witness.
Hamilton is a master of PR and mind games, so Charles will need to dig deep to stand his ground. There are certainly some interesting races ahead.
And after all the noise about Hamiltonโs dream Ferrari F40 โ conveniently the 44th one produced โ seriously, who is buying this artificial coincidence story?!
Anyway, after all the fanfare, Ferrari lost.
But Italy won at Monza. ๐๐ฎ๐น
AI made PMs faster. Multiplayer mode is still broken.

A PM can summarize research, draft a PRD, and mock up a prototype before lunch. The hard part starts when the team has to decide what actually gets built.
Jira Product Discovery gives product teams one place to capture insights, prioritize ideas with consistent frameworks, and build living roadmaps stakeholders can rally around.
And because itโs connected to Jira, the context behind every decision stays with the workโso developers and their agents know not just what to build, but why.
AI helps PMs move faster. Jira Product Discovery helps the whole team build with confidence.
A Fair Fight at Mercedes?
Yes and no.
Knowing that Kimi would start from the back of the grid meant his engineers had optimised the car for the medium and hard tyres.
The classic Monza strategy is medium to hard, but after the Lap 2 red flag, most teams switched to hards โ including George. Kimi had started on hards but still had two new sets of mediums.
So it was effectively two new sets of mediums + a ~24-second pit-stop for Kimi versus one new set of hards + no stop for George โ almost exactly the strategy Ferrari and Leclerc used to win Monza in 2024.
Then came the crucial moment.
On Lap 29, Strollโs stopped car triggered a Virtual Safety Car, giving Mercedes a cheap pit-stop opportunity.
Kimi went for it. George didnโt.
Was this the turning point of the race?
We will never knowโฆ

Deployment Shifts?
What do F1 engineers mean when they say โthe deployment shiftsโ?
Current F1 power units โ AKA engines ๐ โ are constantly managed by sophisticated control systems that adapt energy harvesting and deployment to changing conditions throughout each lap.
When the algorithms identify a โdeployment opportunityโ, drivers can sometimes get an unexpected surge of power. This is believed to have contributed to numerous spins throughout the season.
Current F1 cars are constantly โlearningโ and optimising their energy management, even during live stints.
So, who is really in control โ the driver or the algorithm? ๐ค
